Tamerlan Marzoev, a native of North Ossetia who lived in Moscow for many years, was beaten by the police because of his nationality, Kavkaz.Realii reports with reference to the human rights group “Command Against Torture” and Marzoev himself.
According to the victim, on October 14, together with his pregnant wife, he returned home from friends late in the evening. A police car blocked the road. Employees, without introducing themselves, demanded to present documents, after which, as Marzoev claims, they began to insult him on a national basis. Then one of the policemen hit a resident of the capital several times in the face.
After that, the victim was forced into a car and taken to the police department, where, according to Marzoev, they continued to mock him – in particular, he was forced to strip naked and squat down.
A day later, in the city clinical hospital No. 1, Marzoeva was diagnosed with a bilateral fracture of the jaw and multiple bruises on the head. A few days later, he underwent an operation. Due to the consequences of the beating, he still cannot go to work.
It is noted that the lawyers of the “Command Against Torture” filed a complaint about the crime with the Investigative Committee and the Administration of Private Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
