In Primorye, about 50 female prisoners were beaten and beheaded

About fifty female prisoners serving their sentences in correctional colony No. 10 in the village of Gornoye in the Mykhailo district of Primorye were forcibly shaved on the pretext of fighting pediculosis, reports Sibir.Realii with reference to members of the regional Public Monitoring Commission (ONK).

According to the UNC, violence against prisoners was committed on September 15 and 16. Those women who refused to shave were beaten by FSIN officers. The head of the colony, Oksana Hrytskova, forced those who later wrote a complaint to sign a document stating that they were allegedly prone to suicide, after which the women were put on probation. According to relatives of the prisoners, now they fear for their lives.

According to Yevgeny Sukhanov, a member of the Public Monitoring Commission, human rights activists did not find any signs of pediculosis in the colony. “However, traces of violence were recorded on the bodies of the victims,” ​​he added.

The head of the Hrytskova colony, in an official response to the request of the UNC, confirmed that there was no pediculosis epidemic in the correctional institution, however, according to her, “there were isolated cases of detection, and in order to prevent the spread of the infection throughout the colony, the girls were asked to cut their hair to zero, on that they voluntarily agreed.”
