In St. Petersburg, at the Vitebsk railway station, in honor of the departure of contract servicemen to the war in Ukraine, posters with the image of the American helicopter “Apache” (AH-64 Apache) and the inscription “In the name of peace on earth” were hung. This is reported by “Rotonda”. The mistake on the poster was noticed by the readers of the publication and confirmed by a military expert.
It is reported that the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, spoke at the event at the station. In his speech, he scolded the “vaunted NATO weapon”, which, in his opinion, “is powerless against the courage and steadfastness of the Russian soldier.” The photo of the poster with the helicopter was published on Smolny’s website, but it was removed from there after the Rotonda publication.
Apache helicopter (AH-64 Apache) made its first flight in 1975, in the mid-1980s it became the main attack helicopter of the US Army, and in subsequent years – the most widespread attack helicopter in the world. It is in service in one and a half dozen states.
