During the war in Ukraine, the commander of the 31st Assault Brigade, Colonel Andrey Kondrashkin, died. This was reported by the commander of the “Vostok” battalion of the self-proclaimed “DNR” Alexander Khodakovsky. He does not state the circumstances of Kondrashkin’s death.

It is known that Kondrashkin took part in the war in Chechnya. He himself spoke about participation in at least three military conflicts.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia did not comment on the death of the commander of the 31st Assault Brigade.

According to Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov, the brigade commanded by Kondrashkin “took part in all the major battles of the war, starting with the landing at Gostomel airport.”

Butusov claims that now this Russian unit is located near Bakhmut. According to Kondrashkin, he repelled the attacks of the 3rd Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and units attached to it south of the village of Andreevka. The Ukrainian military broke into Andreevka, including through the area where Kondrashkin’s brigade operated, a Ukrainian journalist claims.

The Ukrainian military reported the liberation of the village of Andreevka on Friday, but Russian official sources did not confirm these reports.

According to the Russian Service of the BBC, Mediazon and a team of volunteers gathered from open sources, more than 170 servicemen of the 31st Airborne Assault Brigade were killed during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. 17% of the dead were officers.
