In Ukraine, the procedure for taking driver’s license exams will be changed

The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced changes to the procedure for passing theoretical and practical exams for future drivers. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Video and audio recording
“In particular, during the entire time of taking the theoretical exam, there will be a video and audio recording of not only the person and the movements of her hands, but also the examiner and his actions, as well as video recording of the entire area of the examination class and the monitor screen of the workplace where the person is taking the theoretical exam,” says the message.
The entire procedure for passing the driving test will also be technically documented. Not only the student and the examiner, but also all their actions, including hand and leg movements, will be recorded on audio and video.
In addition, a video and audio recording of the road situation in front and, if the design allows, behind the vehicle on which the practical exam is taken, will be conducted.
A modern technical complex, which is already undergoing testing, will be used for such a complex fixation. About 150 cars are planned to be equipped with such equipment by the end of the year.
An extension of the deadline is also planned, during which a person can receive a video file on the procedure of taking the exam for appealing the results.
Number of requests for practical exams
In addition, they plan to cancel the number of requests for passing practical exams. As of today, if a person fails the practical exam three times, he undergoes repeated retraining in practical driving of a vehicle and again has three requests.

If the corresponding norm of the law is adopted, a student who did not pass the theoretical exam the first time will be able to retake it after 10 calendar days. The same situation will be with the practical exam.
“All these and other changes are aimed at the maximum openness of the procedure for obtaining a driver’s license and preventing speculation during taking and taking exams. At the same time, there is no talk of reducing the number of educational institutions or instructors,” the message says.
