Israel repelled the largest drone attack in history, no casualties

On Sunday night, Iran attacked Israel with several hundred attack drones and missiles. The Iranian side said that this was a response to the April 1 Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy in Beirut, during which seven officers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were killed. Air raid sirens sounded in the northern and southern regions of Israel, as well as in Jerusalem.

According to The New York Times, citing Israeli officials, 185 kamikaze drones, 36 cruise missiles and 110 surface-to-surface missiles were launched overnight. Most of the launches were carried out from Iranian territory, an even smaller part – from Iraq and Yemen.

The Israel Defense Forces reported that 99% of all missiles and drones were shot down, and most of them outside Israel. Air defense forces, including the “Iron Dome” and “David’s Sling” systems, as well as fighters of the armies of Israel, the United States, and Great Britain, participated in the defense. The armed forces of Jordan also joined the defense.

Iran declared that it had successfully hit the intended military targets in Israel. Israel, for its part, declares that there are no destroyed ones. One military base in the Negev desert was slightly damaged. There are no victims. Several civilians were injured by fragments of downed shells, they are hospitalized.
