Uber Eats plans to launch an automatic food delivery service in Japan in March 2024, making it the second country after the US to launch the service.

About this it is said in the Uber Eats press release.

It is noted that the company will use robots developed by Cartken using artificial intelligence technology, adapted to Japanese specifications, installed and operated by Mitsubishi Electric, to deliver food.

In addition, the robot is equipped with six cameras, object recognition technology, autonomous control and remote control functions using advanced AI models and algorithms.

The company says the robot will drive on footpaths at speeds of up to 5.4 km/h as a remote-controlled small vehicle, as defined by Japan’s traffic law.

We will remind:

In Ukraine, the UberEats food delivery service has stopped operating since June 2022.
