Journalists were detained at the action of wives mobilized in Moscow

In Moscow, in Aleksandrovsky Garden, the police detained a group of journalists on Saturday who were planning to cover the weekly action of wives mobilized for the war in Ukraine. This was reported, in particular, by the Telegram channel SOTA, which publishes a recording of the detention.
Judging by these shots, the detainees were wearing “Pressa” vests. SOTAvision writes about the detention of its correspondents Mikhail Lebedev and Anna Sliva, who had press cards with them. It is also reported about the detention of RUSNews journalist Yulia Petrova.
Before the start of the action, the police tried to allow the wives of those mobilized from the “Way Home” movement to go to the laying of flowers, reports the “Rain” Telegram channel. There was a queue of women who wanted to lay flowers at the Eternal Flame.
Earlier, the “Way Home” movement announced an all-Russian commemorative action, timed to the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army.
Members of the “Way Home” group lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier every Saturday. Detentions, including journalists, at these actions have been reported more than once.
- The “Way Home” movement appeared in Russia in August 2023 – almost an hour after the so-called partial mobilization announced by the authorities. In November, a manifesto and petition against indefinite mobilization were published on social networks. Initially, “The Way Home” emphasized the need to rotate the mobilized, later calls for the end of the war began to appear.
