The Tomsk governor creates a named battalion “Vasyugan”

The Governor of the Tomsk region, Vladimir Mazur, spoke about the decision to create a special battalion “Vasyugan”, which will be formed from local volunteers. Earlier, the “Toyan” battalion was created in the region.
The battalion will be part of the Armed Forces of Russia, this decision was made jointly with the Ministry of Defense. Mazur told about this at a meeting with Sergei Ryabov, a participant in the war in Ukraine.
“We will provide our guys with the most modern equipment and uniforms. Together with military professionals, we will conduct combat training and prepare them for service in the zone of a special military operation,” the press service of the Masurian regional administration quotes.
In the summer of 2022, a nominal battalion “Toyan” was already created in the Tomsk region. The authorities stated that he was engaged in the logistical support of the Russian army in the Donbass. It recruited drivers, cooks, electricians, storekeepers, and communications workers. A few months later, relatives of soldiers from “Toyana” complained that their contracts were unilaterally extended, writes “TV2”.
