Kadyrov’s eldest son received a position in the government of Chechnya on his 18th birthday

The eldest son of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, Akhmat, has been appointed the first deputy minister of the republic for physical culture, sports and youth policy. Akhmat turned 18 on November 8. This appointment was not reported separately, but Ramzan Kadyrov indicated Akhmat’s new position in a post on his Telegram channel, in which he talked about the next awards, including those of his sons.

As Kavkaz.Realii clarifies, this post was previously held by Huseyn Abdulkarimov. However, as follows from the official decrees studied by the editors, on November 8 he was demoted to the rank of deputy minister of sports.

Earlier, Akhmat Kadyrov was appointed assistant to the head of Chechnya and chairman of the council of the regional branch of the pro-Kremlin youth “Movement of the First”.

In total, about 100 relatives of the Kadyrov family – children, sisters, sons-in-law, nephews, brothers of various degrees of kinship – occupy state positions of various levels in Chechnya. In 2018, the Russian service of the BBC published an investigation in which it was confirmed that out of 158 officials in Chechnya, about 47 people were related to Kadyrov.

The closest relatives of Ramzan Kadyrov, including minors, also receive state posts and awards. So, the 15-year-old second son of the head of Chechnya, Adam, has already been awarded the Hero of Chechnya order, as well as the Tatarstan “Duslyk” orders, the “For Merit to the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic” order, and the highest award of Kabardino-Balkaria – the “For Merit to the Republic” order. The 26-year-old nephew of the head of Chechnya, Khamzat Kadyrov, also received the title of Hero of the Republic. He holds the position of assistant to his uncle in the power bloc and deputy minister of property and land relations.

People from the circle of Kadyrov and his family are periodically suspected of exceeding their official powers and other crimes. On Friday, the VChK-OGPU Telegram channel reported that an investigative investigation was underway in Moscow “in relation to the immediate environment of Ramzan Kadyrov’s nephew” on criminal charges of kidnapping, extortion, and organizing a criminal community. There is no official confirmation of this information in other sources.
