“Kinopoysk” was fined 1 million rubles for the article on “LGBT propaganda”

On Tuesday, the Zamoskvoretsky Court of Moscow fined the Kinopoysk service 1 million rubles for an article about “LGBT propaganda” among minors, TASS reports.
The protocols were made due to the fact that the service did not place the “18+” marking on the films “Bridget Jones’s Diary”, “Greed”, “The English Barber” and “Perfect Strangers”.
“Kinopoysk” explained that films on the service can be watched only by subscription, which is available from the age of 18. In addition, the age marking is established by the license holder and the Ministry of Culture.
Earlier, a number of other Russian services and companies were fined under the same article.
- Since December 2022, the dissemination of positive information about homosexuality, bisexuality and transgenderism has been prohibited in Russia. According to the law signed by President Vladimir Putin, fines of up to 400,000 rubles for citizens and up to four million rubles for organizations are provided for this.
- After that, Roskomnadzor added more than 200 sites to the register of prohibited information, many bookstores removed from sale products in which non-traditional sexual relations can be found.
- The law was sharply criticized by human rights and LGBT+ organizations, which noted that it increases stigmatization and discriminates against the LGBT+ community.
