Lukashenko arrived in Russia for the first meeting with Putin after the PMC mutiny

Alexander Lukashenko arrived in St. Petersburg. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Pul Pervogo” close to the press service of the authoritarian Belarusian leader. At Pulkovo Airport, Lukashenko was met by the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, and the head of the Lenoblast, Alexander Drozdenko.

Lukashenko is scheduled to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday. According to official data, the parties plan to discuss issues of security and the international agenda, as well as “integration cooperation within the framework of the Union state”.

This will be the first meeting between Putin and Lukashenko after the mutiny of PMC “Wagner” and the subsequent transfer of the group’s mercenaries to Belarusian territory in agreement with Minsk.

“Pul Pervogo” publishes a photo and video of Lukashenko at the airport. Telegram users note that Lukashenko is wearing a khaki suit.

Before leaving for Russia, Lukashenko gave the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly the authority to approve military doctrine, introduce a state of emergency and martial law in the republic, and send military personnel out of the country.

On July 21, at a meeting with Security Council members, Vladimir Putin stated that aggression against Minsk would mean aggression against Moscow. At the same time, the Russian president accused Poland of territorial claims against Belarus. Putin also said that Poland claims Western Ukraine.
