Mathematician Azat Myftakhov was detained on the way out of IK-17 in Omutninsk, where he was serving time on charges of setting fire to the office of “Edinoy Rossii”. This is reported by Doxa with reference to the people meeting Myftakhov.

According to the interlocutors of the publication, the mathematician was taken by car to Kirov. The court on the election of a restraining order will be held tomorrow.

Earlier, a new criminal case was instituted against Myftakhov under the article on public calls for terrorist activity, justification or propaganda of terrorism. On August 30, the investigators asked to officially interrogate the accused, but he refused to testify, since during the interrogation it was not his defense attorney, but a lawyer by appointment.

A new criminal case was initiated due to the conversation about the 17-year-old anarchist Mikhail Zhlobytsky, who committed an explosion in the Arkhangelsk FSB office. It is asserted that Myftakhov, according to the linguistic expertise conducted in the case, “expressed approval” of Zhlobytsky’s deed in a conversation with two witnesses from among the prisoners. According to a new criminal case initiated by the FSB, Miftahov faces up to five years in prison.

According to the investigation and the court, he and his associates, who adhere to anarchist views, broke the window of the United Russia office in the Khovrino district of Moscow and threw a smoke bomb into the room.
