The authorities of Kamchatka for the first time named the number of wounded in the war in Ukraine

The authorities of the Kamchatka region for the first time since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine named the number of wounded. This is reported by “Kam-24”.

According to the head of the Kamchatka governor’s administration, Sergei Merkulov, 1,128 residents of the region received compensation for injuries, and 771 people are registered with the local Ministry of Social Welfare. Regional authorities spent 564 million rubles on payments to the wounded.

According to him, 16 soldiers who were left with limbs are receiving help from state funds and federal institutions: five people applied to receive prostheses at the “Defenders of the Fatherland” fund, eight people – at the prosthetics center “Protekt”, at the Main Bureau of Medical and Social Expertise Kamchatka region – one person, the Social Fund of Russia – two people.

Soldiers of the 40th Separate Marine Brigade, the “Kamchatka” Battalion, as well as soldiers who were drafted in other regions – from the 1466th Teroboron Regiment in Chita and the 155th Marine Brigade in Vladivostok – are entitled to payments and social assistance in Kamchatka. .

“Kam-24” notes that the representative of the regional authorities did not name the number of dead since the beginning of the war. According to Mediazone and “Russian Service of the BBC” on August 24, 94 soldiers from Kamchatka were killed since the beginning of the invasion. The total number of dead, according to open data, was 30,698. Real losses may be significantly higher.
