The capabilities of this program allow it to provide understandable answers to questions.

Software like ChatGPT is based on generative AI. Among its capabilities is the reproduction of images indistinguishable from paintings painted by living artists. Specifically, this chatbot specializes in writing texts that are practically indistinguishable from what a real person would write.

At the beginning of this year, Microsoft announced that it will invest significant funds in the OpenAI company over the next couple of years. The specific volume of the planned investments is not yet known, although it was previously reported that the IT giant is discussing an investment of up to $10 billion.

The CEO of OpenAI said that Microsoft uses its own GPT algorithm in Bing, but strives to improve the program’s performance and subsequently used a number of technological developments of his company.

The basic model used by ChatGPT AI cannot yet answer questions about events that happened after 2021, since the data necessary for this was not used during training. Microsoft continues to improve the system, striving to make its answers as relevant as possible. In addition, the company notes that it is very important to indicate the sources of information (the search engine must refer to the used information resources).

The essence of the newly introduced in Bing

Recent changes to the search system will give users the opportunity to receive more detailed answers to search queries. At the same time, they will have the opportunity to collect additional information on a specific topic by asking the system a number of additional questions. Now the number of requests in Bing is limited, but Microsoft reports that the service will be fully operational in the near future.

You can already test the capabilities of the updated Bing by asking the program, for example, to write a poem, suggest new ideas for a menu, or create a program.

Microsoft plans to release a new search engine on portable devices in the future, as well as add chat functionality with AI support to every Internet browser, not limited to Edge. At the same time, the latter will always be ahead of the others, as some of the special functions will not be available to competitors.

Microsoft will continue to compete with Google

Technological companies continue to compete among themselves in the field of innovative artificial intelligence. Earlier, Google demonstrated its own chatbot called Bard. Now this program is being tested, and access to it will open in the near future.

The head of Google also said that the American corporation is going to introduce part of the Bard functionality into the main search toolkit. To develop this project, she involved all the specialists she could. Google is in a hurry because the competition in the AI ​​segment is getting fiercer.

Do the new AIs have security problems?

At the beginning of this year, information appeared that Microsoft employees were advised to refrain from communicating any confidential corporate data to ChatGPT. Otherwise, they can be used by OpenAI when learning new programs. Theoretically, after this, sensitive information may end up in the hands of outsiders. They will be simple users who will talk to the bot.

Other large IT companies are also concerned about risks related to information security. In particular, Amazon advised employees not to use ChatGPT to transmit confidential information, such as source codes, LBLV recalled.
