News on February 9: annual inflation slowed down, the Czechs go to arbitration against Gazprom
About inflation. In January 2023, compared to December 2022, inflation increased by 0.8%, while annual inflation slowed down from 26.6% to 26%.
About the arbitration against Gazprom. The Czech company ČEZ has initiated arbitration proceedings against Russia’s Gazprom, submitting an application for arbitration under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce: demanding compensation of 1 billion Czech crowns (45.3 million dollars) due to undersupply of gas.
About Starlink. SpaceX said it took steps to prevent the Ukrainian military from using Starlink satellite internet to control drones in the region during the country’s war with Russia.
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov commented on the information that SpaceX allegedly limited Ukraine’s use of the Starlink Internet for controlling drones. He claims that there are currently no problems with the operation of Starlink terminals in Ukraine.
About sanctions. The G7 countries are discussing the application of sanctions against companies in China, Iran and North Korea that supply Russia with parts and technology for military purposes.
About “Ukrtatnafta”. PJSC “Ukrtatnafta” transferred 531 million hryvnias to the budget after the beginning of the investigation by the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications regarding the corruption of the former management of PJSC “Ukrtatnafta” and PJSC “Ukrtatnafta”.
