On the Krymsky bridge, one of the spans of which was destroyed as a result of an attack by Ukrainian surface drones on July 17, the movement of cars has been partially restored. It is carried out in a reversible mode on the far right lane of the Taman-Kerch direction.

Reversive movement is organized in the blast zone, where restoration work is being carried out, reports TASS. On other sections, traffic is carried out on the right side of the bridge in both directions. On the side of Crimea annexed by Russia, a traffic jam with a length of three kilometers was formed at the entrance to the bridge, the agency notes.

Yesterday, the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Marat Khusnullin, who oversees Crimea issues, admitted that one of the spans of the bridge was completely destroyed and could not be restored, and another one was damaged. According to him, the supports were almost undamaged. He promised that one of the pillars, which requires strengthening, will be repaired on the night of July 18, after which it will be possible to start automobile traffic on the bridge in reversible mode for passenger cars.

Two-way traffic on one side of the Krymsky bridge is planned to be launched on September 15, on the other side – in November, Khusnullin said.

According to Khusnullin, one track of the railway part of the bridge also received minor damage. Railway traffic on the bridge was restored a few hours after the explosion.

  • The Krymsky bridge connecting the Krasnodar region with Crimea annexed by Russia was damaged on the night of July 17 as a result of an attack by two unmanned surface vehicles. Ukrainian mass media sources reported that the attack was organized by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the country’s Security Service. During the explosions, a car that was driving on the bridge was damaged. Two people died, a 14-year-old girl was injured.
  • The Security Service of Ukraine announced that they will reveal all the details of the attack on the Crimean bridge after Ukraine’s victory in the war against Russia. “For now, we are watching with interest how one of the symbols of Putin’s regime has once again failed to withstand the military load,” SBU representative Artem Dekhtyarenko told RBC-Ukraine.
  • This is the second time the bridge leading to the peninsula annexed by Russia has been blown up since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. The previous one happened in October last year. Five people died.
