Petersburg airport does not accept planes. The sky over the garden is closed

Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg is temporarily not accepting or sending planes, the city government reported, without specifying the reasons. Telegram channels, without citing sources, report that an “unidentified object” was detected in the airspace.

Telegram channels Baza and “112” were the first to report the closure of the airspace over St. Petersburg. According to Baza, the “Carpet” plan is in effect on the territory – it is introduced when the border is illegally crossed, as well as when unidentified objects appear in the airspace. “112” claimed that with such a plan, all aircraft in the air, with the exception of military and rescue aircraft, must land.

Baza also reported that fighter jets were raised in the air, and the airspace was closed for 200 kilometers. According to “112”, two fighters are operating in the air – Su-35 and MiG-31.

Data from the Flightradar24 service showed that there were indeed no planes over St. Petersburg, and those flying towards it turned around. In particular, this was done by a plane flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg.

According to the government of St. Petersburg, the airport and its services are working as usual. Pulkovo will not receive and send planes until 12:00 local time.
