Yakub Zakriev, Minister of Agriculture of Chechnya and nephew of the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, headed Danon Russia shortly after the company was transferred to Rosimushchestvo management. The appointment was made after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on July 16 on the transfer of the shares of the French concern Danone in Russia to the temporary management of Rosimushchestvo.
The Bell’s source claims that there are “interested parties in Chechnya” in the nationalization of Danone’s assets.
Also, the assets of the “Baltika” brewing company, belonging to the Danish concern Carlsberg, were transferred to the temporary management of Rosymuschestvo. “Baltika” was headed by entrepreneur Taimuraz Bolloev, a native of North Ossetia. He already managed “Baltikoy” in the early 2000s.
