More than a hundred residents of Orsk, Orenburg region, came out on Monday for a rally in one of the central squares. Part of the districts of the city suffered because of the flood. Citizens criticize local authorities and record a video appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Citizens are dissatisfied with the amount of payments for flood-damaged property. In addition, they believe that the dam, built with budget money, was built with irregularities and because of this could not stop the flood. People express distrust of local authorities and ask for help directly from the president.
As reported by local Telegram channels, the police initially tried to prevent the rally, but then there were too many people to disperse them. The mayor of the city Vasyl Kozupitsa came to the square. He tried to address the crowd, but he was interrupted by shouts of “Shame!”. Then he suggested that citizens form an initiative group for negotiations in the city administration.
