In Cherepovets, returning from the war in Ukraine, the mercenary of the private military company “Wagner” Alexey Kochin was found guilty of intentionally causing serious harm to health, resulting in death, and was sentenced to eight years in a strict regime colony.

It is noted that Kochin went to war from the colony, where he was imprisoned for a similar crime – he beat his wife to death. And even earlier, a Cherepov resident was sentenced to 7 years in prison for a similar crime, but he was released on parole.

This time Kochin beat a stranger to death. According to the investigation materials, in the summer of 2023, a “Wagnerovet” who had returned from the war and his friend met a 73-year-old pensioner on a playground. He complained that his son periodically beat him and invited both men to his home, where the company started drinking alcoholic beverages. The pensioner’s son, who was in the apartment, reprimanded his father for drinking alcohol again. In response, Kochin beat him to death.

As reported by Sever.Realiya, when sentencing a recidivist “Wagner” to 8 years, the court took into account “participation in a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine, during which Kochyn received the PMC “Wagner” awards and gratitude from the head of the Luhansk People’s Republic.” .

• Reports of serious crimes, including murder and rape, committed by returnees from the war in Ukraine regularly appear in the mass media. Hundreds of such cases are already known. The resonance caused by them forced the Kremlin to recommend controlled journalists not to tell about such incidents.

• Courts accept the fact of participation in the war with Ukraine as a mitigating circumstance. So, on March 6 in Chelyabinsk, a local resident was fined 5,000 rubles for brutally beating his ex-wife and mother of many children. He brought medals from PMC “Wagner” to the court.
