The Ministry of Sports and the State Duma of Russia will develop legal acts limiting travel abroad for young hockey players. This was announced by Minister of Sports Oleg Matytsyn at a forum in Perm, writes RBC.

According to Matitsyn, it is necessary to create conditions that would allow players to realize their talents and receive material support in Russia. The official did not specify whether the possible restrictions will apply to any trips abroad or only to transfers to foreign clubs.

On October 19, the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, at the sports council in Perm, declared the need to deal with “hockey agents who are still taking children from sports schools and dragging them abroad.”

In turn, the Russian Hockey Federation informed RBC that agents without licenses were taking players to North America. Last summer, more than ten young Russian hockey players left to play for the National Hockey League, which unites clubs from the USA and Canada.
