Russian oligarchs organized a “sale” of yachts – SMI

Sanctions and mass arrests of yachts forced wealthy Russians to put them up for sale. Large yacht brokers Fraser, Moran, Burgess, C&N, Arconyachts have a dozen vessels for sale related to Russian owners, Moscowtimes writes.

Sale of yachts

The largest and most expensive of them is Here comes the sun (89 m), associated with the owner of the Eurasia drilling company, Alexander Japaridze. They want to raise $195 million for Here comes the sun. Galactica Supernova (70 m) is also on sale for €75 million. Lukoil founder Vahyt Alekperov was called its owner.

Former officials also sell their yachts: Icon Ragnar (68 m) was associated with former KGB employee and ex-director of Nornikel Vladimir Strzhalkovsky. The seller wants to get €69.5 million for her. Another boat, Admiral Quinta Essentia (55 m), is probably being sold by former senator and vodka king from Beluga Group Valentin Zavadnikov. He wants to get a modest €25 million.

Earlier, ex-banker Oleg Tynkov announced his desire to sell the yacht. He now cannot afford to maintain the $100 million icebreaker yacht La Datcha.

US and EU authorities have arrested at least 13 superyachts belonging to oligarchs close to President Putin.
