In the Stavropol region, a criminal case has been initiated against Andrey Vorontsov, assistant governor of the region. He is suspected of embezzling more than 10 million rubles intended for the purchase of uniforms and equipment for Russian soldiers fighting in Ukraine.
As reported by Bloknot Stavropol, since January 2023, Vorontsov has held the post of assistant to the governor of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov, and concurrently serves as the senior comrade of the ataman of the Stavropol District Cossack Society. According to the investigation, he used his official position to conclude state contracts with businessmen Sergey Dudkin and Alexander Tytov, who then became involved in a scheme to embezzle budget funds related to the supply of rubber boots.
Earlier, local publications wrote about the criminal case of Dudkin and Titov: they were suspected of inflating the prices of sleeping bags, sleeping bags and rubber boots for the army. It is not yet known whether Vorontsov will be detained.
