The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested Mark Feigin in absentia
On Friday, the Basmanny Court of Moscow decided to arrest in absentia the host of the popular YouTube channel and public figure Mark Feigin. He is accused of so-called fakes about the army. Feigin is abroad.
What specifically became the reason for the initiation of the case is not reported. Feigin publicly speaks out in support of Ukraine. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, broadcasts on his Feygin Live channel with the participation of the former adviser to the Office of the President of Ukraine, Alexey Arestovych, became more popular (they were later discontinued).
At the same time, last October Feygin appeared in the search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. It was not specified under which article he was wanted, but TASS, with reference to law enforcement agencies, reported that the search was related to the fact that Feygin participated in the activities of the so-called undesirable organization, and also covered the activities of the Svoboda Rossii legion, recognized as a terrorist in Russia. fighting for Ukraine. Even earlier, the Russian authorities entered Feigin in the register of “foreign agents”.
Mark Feigin is a former member of the State Duma, an opposition public figure. Was a lawyer. In 2012, he defended members of the band Pussy Riot, and later – Ukrainian military servicewoman Nadezhda Savchenko, who was tried in Russia. In 2018, Feigin was left with the status of a lawyer in Russia.
