The court arrested streamer Anna Bazhutova for her statements about Buche

The Ostankino District Court of Moscow sent the streamer Anna Bazhutova, known as YakoBovich, to pre-trial detention center. A criminal case has been initiated against her under the article about the so-called fakes about the army – reports “Ostrozhno, Novosti”.

According to the Telegram channel, the case against 30-year-old Bazhutova was initiated “a few days ago, and on Friday morning she was detained, and her home was searched.”

Officially, there was no information about the criminal case and what Bazhutova was accused of. As “Ostorozhno, novosti” writes, in June, pro-military Telegram channels harassed Bazhutova online after she accused the Russian military in one of the streams of the mass murders of residents of Ukrainian Bucha. Similar accusations often form the basis of cases of so-called fakes about the army, since the Russian authorities at the highest level denied involvement in the murders in Buch, either denying their fact, or blaming Ukraine itself for them.

YakoBovich, as “Ostrozhno, novosti” writes, held a stream in June where she read the stories and memories of Bucha residents, and at the same time called for violence against those who, in her opinion, are guilty of murders. She also uttered the phrase “death to the Russian occupiers.”

After pro-war channels drew attention to the stream, Bazhutova deleted her Telegram channel and Twitch account, but remained in Russia.

  • Russian courts have already issued dozens of verdicts in cases of so-called fakes about the army, including in absentia. Some of the defendants received conditional terms and fines, others, including, for example, politician Ilya Yashin, received real terms. There are no acquittals based on this article.
