The court in St. Petersburg continued the hearing of Sasha Skochylenko’s case

The Vasileostrovsky District Court of St. Petersburg continued to consider the case of the artist and musician Sasha Skochylenko. She is accused of spreading “fakes” about the army – because she changed the price tags in the Perekrestok store to stickers with information about the war in Ukraine.
Skochylenko has been in pre-trial detention center for a year and a half. She suffers from several diseases – celiac disease, heart disease and PTSD. The defense has repeatedly asked the court to transfer her to house arrest: she cannot be provided with proper medical care in the detention center. But the judge refused to consider the arguments of the defense. “Mediazon” edition draws attention to this.
Two experts prepared a linguistic opinion against Skochylenko, in which factual and grammatical errors were made. The defense has already questioned Olga Safonova — she was preparing a linguistic report on the Skochylenko case for the prosecution. She had to admit that she made mistakes in her own examination. She also admitted: it cannot be asserted that Skochylenko knew about the falsity of the information and intentionally reflected false information in her price lists. And this means that there is no crime in the Skochylenko case.
At the last meeting, the defense questioned the second linguist expert of the prosecution — Anastasia Hryshanin. It was she who called the personal offer on one of Skochylenko’s price tags impersonal. She also found a “motive of political hatred” in Sasha Skochylenko’s words. Hryshanina believes that the defendant’s use of such words as “zinc graves” and “stop the war” is proof of the presence of a “motive of political hatred.”
At the last meeting, independent expert psychologist Chesnokov called Skochylenko’s main quality “empathy, that is, the ability to experience someone else’s pain as one’s own.” In his opinion, Skochylenko believed in the information she was spreading and only wanted to stop military actions.
