The FSB reported on the detention of a resident of Sakhalin in the case of treason

In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, FSB officers detained a local resident who, according to the special service, was preparing terrorist attacks on the island’s power system facility and in the military commissariat. Criminal cases of preparation for a terrorist attack and treason have been initiated against him. This was reported by the press service of the department.

The FSB published a video of the suspect’s detention and interrogation. On it, he says that he stored saltpeter for the manufacture of an explosive device in the garage, and planned to commit a terrorist attack at night, approaching the object on a bicycle. According to the detainee, he intended to film the results of the explosion on a camera. The agency claims that the detainee corresponded with the coordinator of some “terrorist organization from Ukraine”.

The FSB showed the chemicals found in the detainee’s house, allegedly for making an explosive device. In the house, they also found a map of the area and printed instructions for making a homemade silencer for a Colt pistol.

Earlier on Wednesday, the FSB office in the Sverdlovsk region reported on the detention of a native of Ukraine at the Yekaterinburg airport on charges of treason. Ego was placed in a pre-trial detention center. The agency claims that the detainee transferred money to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces and helped purchase satellite communication equipment for the Ukrainian army.
