“The Executive Council of the International Archery Organization discussed in detail the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee on the assessment of the return of neutral athletes with Russian or Belarusian passports to individual international competitions.

The Federation expressed its support and agreed to study the timetable for the return of these athletes under strict conditions of compliance, allowing only the reintegration of persons who can prove their neutrality through an independent verification process,” the statement said.

The International Federation also added that sanctions prohibiting the use of national flags and anthems of Russia and Belarus at all competitions remain in force.

It is noted that the International Archery Organization will work with the International Olympic Committee and the Association of International Summer Olympic Games Federations to complete the independent review process necessary to ensure that only neutrals return to the competition. This process will include an assessment of any connection between the individual and the military.

In order to develop and implement the schedule of this procedure, a working group will be created, which will include independent representatives.

The organization also confirmed its solidarity with Ukraine and the full support of the Ukrainian archery community in the face of the ongoing war with Russia, and also emphasized that confirmation of neutrality is a mandatory condition for any person to return to archery competitions.
