The International Olympic Committee has changed the information about neutral athletes from Russia admitted to the Olympics in Paris in 2024. Now there are six such athletes, according to a message on the IOC website on Thursday.

“Among the 4,600 athletes from around the world who have currently qualified for Paris 2024, there are only 11 individual
neutral athletes (six with Russian passports plus five p
Belarusian passport)”, – quotes the report “Interfax”.

Earlier, the IOC website mentioned eight individual neutral athletes from Russia and three from Belarus.

As noted, athletes with Russian and Belarusian passports will be able to compete only as individual neutral athletes. Teams will not be admitted to the competition. Athletes and staff working with them are not allowed to participate if they actively speak out in support of the Russian invasion of Ukraine or are in the army or security agencies of their countries.

The use of the flag, anthem, colors and any other symbols of Russia or Belarus will also be prohibited, and officials from these countries will not be able to attend the games.

On March 28, the IOC recommended that international federations allow Russians and Belarusians to compete, but on the condition that they do not
support the war and have no relation to military sports societies.
