Poet Lev Rubinstein was hit by a car in Moscow. He is in intensive care in a serious condition. This was reported by his friends and acquaintances.

Poet and journalist Igor Irtenyev wrote on Facebook on the afternoon of January 8 that Rubinstein was hospitalized at the Emergency Medical Research Institute named after N.V. Sklifosovsky, where they operated.

Journalist Masha Slonim and Veronika Lyubarskaya, daughter of astrophysicist Kronid Lyubarsky, wrote about this.

According to the Dozhd TV channel, Rubinstein has multiple fractures and a traumatic brain injury. According to Slonim, after the operation, Rubinstein was put into a therapeutic sleep. There are no more detailed details about the poet’s state of health yet.

Lev Rubinstein is 76 years old. He is one of the founders of Moscow Conceptualism and laureate of the NOS award. The poet received it in 2012 for the book “Signs of Attention”. Poems on cards are recognized as a distinctive feature of his creativity.

The poet published his first works in the West, Rubinstein’s work became known in Russia at the end of the 1989s.
