On April 28, the state budget of Ukraine received grant funds in the amount of $1.25 billion from the United States of America. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance.

Funding is provided through the World Bank Trust Fund as part of the fourth additional financing for the project “Supporting Public Expenditures for Sustainable Governance in Ukraine” (PEACE).
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, Ukraine has received about $16.7 billion in grants from the United States.
“Partnership with the USA and the World Bank team during the war allows the government of Ukraine to finance priority social expenditures in full. At the same time, assistance in the form of grants does not increase the debt burden and contributes to the stabilization of the financial system,” noted the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko.
Where are the funds directed?
Funds from the United States will be directed to provide pension payments, separate programs of state social assistance (HPV payments), salaries of health care workers and payments to employees of the State Emergency Service.
The Ministry of Finance also noted that today a joint project with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (MAR) is being implemented in Ukraine “Supporting public expenditures to ensure sustainable government in Ukraine” for a total of $16.5 billion and 1.4 billion euros (IBRD loans, IDA loans, grants from the Trust Fund of many donors).
