Kamchatka teacher Vasyla Vershinina, previously fined for the article about “discrediting the Russian army”, was dismissed from school. According to the publication “Govorit NeMoskva”, in Vershinina’s employment book it is written: “She was fired due to the commission of an immoral offense by an employee performing educational functions.” With such a record, she will no longer be able to get a job at any of the schools.

Vershinina said that she was released to the director’s office, where a committee of teachers gathered who allegedly studied her social networks and announced that “such a teacher cannot work at school.” After that, employees of the Center for Combating Extremism entered the office with a working video camera and handed her a summons to the police.

The teacher said that she was asked to explain about two videos that she published on her VKontakte page. “Under one of the videos, there are words about the resignation of Putin. Due to the fact that the status of the president is not indicated in the text, an employee of the “E” center regarded it as a call for the resignation of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the discrediting of the army. Know that there is now such a loophole”she said.

According to Vershinina, as one of the reasons for her dismissal, the students’ complaints about the teacher’s humiliating attitude towards them were also mentioned. But, she says, some children later said that they had signed clean sheets and apologized to her.

Vershynina intends to appeal her dismissal in court.

  • In September of last year, the Russian language teacher in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vasyl Vershinina, was detained by the police, who came directly to the lesson. She was kept in a special reception for two days, and then fined for the fact that she tried to finish the lesson when she was detained. The court also fined her under the article about “discrediting the Russian army” because of the phrase “Our country will be declared a criminal.” It is not specified where it was pronounced.
