The US President announced the allocation of $100 million to aid the residents of Gaza

US President Joe Biden announced the allocation of humanitarian aid in the amount of 100 million dollars for residents of Gaza and Palestinians living in the West Bank of the Jordan River.

“This money will go to support more than one million Palestinians who left their homes as a result of the conflict, as well as emergency needs in the Gaza Strip,” Biden explained.

Earlier it was reported that the American president is going to ask the Congress for about 100 billion dollars to help Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Israel, in turn, appealed to the United States with a request to provide the country with emergency aid in the amount of 10 billion.

On Wednesday, Joe Biden arrived in Israel on a visit, during which he met, in particular, with the country’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. After the conversation, the US president said that, apparently, Israel is not responsible for the previous day’s explosion in a hospital in the Gaza Strip, which killed hundreds of people. The Israeli military stated that the tragedy was caused by a Palestinian rocket fired by the radical group “Islamic Jihad” at Israel and which went off course. The authorities of the Palestinian Authority deny this, blaming the Israeli army for everything.

According to the results of the visit, Biden once again emphasized that the United States will support Israel in actions to protect its people, condemned the attack by Hamas and compared this organization to the “Islamic State” group.

At the same time, a number of Western mass media emphasize that, despite public statements, the approaches of the leadership of the USA and Israel do not coincide on all issues. John Kirby, a representative of the US National Security Council, told reporters on board Biden’s plane earlier that the US president is going to ask the Israeli leadership “tough questions” about Israel’s future plans. Which ones, Kirby did not specify.
