Rustyam Abushaev, the mayor of the city of Bolshoi Kamen in the Primorsky Krai, wanted on charges of fraud, published a video on his Telegram channel in which he claims to be at the front.

According to Abushaev, he “long ago” decided to go to war, but he made the final decision after meeting with the families of the fallen soldiers on the eve of March 8. In the video, an official is standing in military uniform with a sniper rifle in his hands against the background of a destroyed building.

TV channel “Rain” tried to contact Abushaev on social networks, but he did not answer the correspondent’s questions.

Abushaev, as RIA Novosti writes with reference to the administration of Bolshoi Kamny, did not resign, he is on vacation. The press service of the Investigative Committee for the Primorsky Krai clarified that he is still wanted.

  • In March, Rusty Abushaev was placed on the federal wanted list for fraud. According to the investigation, the mayor’s office of Bolshoi Kamny, under the leadership of Abushaev, gave two plots of land on the De-Fries peninsula and in the village of Klyuchevay to a disabled person and a labor veteran as fictitious ownership. The land area was three hectares, and the market value was 54 million rubles. Later, the land was divided into 22 plots, which were transferred to third parties. In addition, the investigation believes that the head of Bolshoi Kamny illegally managed a commercial company.
  • Earlier, the prosecutor’s office of Nadezhda district accused Abushaev of illegally receiving bonuses in the amount of 300 thousand rubles. From 2019 to 2021, Rusty Abushaev headed the district administration, and later headed the mayor’s office of Bolshoy Kamny.
