Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels covering the fighting in Ukraine reported on Monday about intense fighting in the village of Rabotino in the Zaporozhye region. The village is located on the first line of defense of the Russian troops in the direction of Tokmak and further to Melitopol. Battles on the approaches to it were fought since the beginning of the Ukrainian offensive in June. In recent days, it was reported about the breakthrough of the Ukrainian military in Rabotino itself.
On Monday, the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar wrote in a telegram that the Ukrainian military “had success in the direction of southeastern Rabotino and southern Maloy Tokmachka of the Zaporizhzhya region,” and in the village itself “planned combat work continues.” Russian pro-military channels report on battles in the central part of the village.
These same channels claim that Russian troops have achieved success on the second part of the front, in the Kupyansk region. According to the statement, they occupied the village of Synkovka to the northeast of this city in the Kharkiv region. Ukrainian sources, however, call the video allegedly shot in Sinkovka staged and do not confirm the loss of the village. The Ministry of Defense of Russia in its summary stated about “improvement of the situation along the front edge in the Kupyan direction” without specifying populated areas.
It is impossible to independently confirm the statements of the parties in the conditions of active hostilities.
Earlier, the evacuation of residents of settlements in the Kupyan district was announced in Kharkiv region. Ukrainian authorities fear that Russian troops will be able to break through to Kupyansk. The city has been shelled in recent days.
