Vladimir Klitschko appealed to the President of the IOC and urged not to allow athletes from Russia to participate in the Olympics
Multiple world champion Vladimir Klitschko called on the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach not to allow Russia to participate in the 2024 Olympics, according to the Olympic champion’s Facebook page.
“Dear Thomas Bach, you are the president of the IOC. You are a representative of the world values of tolerance and peace. You are proposing to allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in the Games in Paris again. I’m telling you that today the Russians are Olympic champions in crimes against the civilian population. They have a gold medal for the deportation of children and the rape of women. You cannot place your Olympic emblem on these crimes, because you will become an accomplice of this disgusting war,” said the brother of the Mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko.
Vladimir Klitschko also emphasized that Russia’s participation in the Olympics would be a betrayal of the Olympic spirit.
“Don’t do this, otherwise you will betray the Olympic spirit. A country that violates the basic principles of international law cannot be legitimized by an international sports body. Don’t make this monumental mistake. The world is watching over you. History will judge you,” added Vladimir Klitschko.
