Rospotrebnadzor canceled the requirement for persons entering Russia from abroad to fill out special questionnaires in order to combat the spread of the coronavirus infection. The relevant order is published on the legal information portal.
The selective testing of passengers on flights for COVID-19 has also been canceled, it will be kept only for those arriving from countries where the epidemiological situation will be considered unfavorable.
Mandatory questionnaires for those arriving in Russia from abroad were introduced in March 2020, when the world’s COVID-19 pandemic began. In the questionnaires, it was necessary to indicate, in particular, the address where the arrival was going to stay in the next two weeks. Later, questionnaires were also introduced for those arriving through ground checkpoints.
Most of the countries of the world canceled most of the quarantine measures related to COVID-19 in the spring of last year. In Russia, the need for tests upon arrival in the country was canceled at that time. The questionnaire, however, still had to be filled out.
In addition, in a number of regions of Russia, including Moscow, restrictions on holding mass events, introduced 3.5 years ago due to the pandemic, are still in effect. In practice, they only concern street events, the holding of which is not approved by the authorities: applications for rallies are not approved, under the formal pretext of fighting the coronavirus infection, which the WHO no longer considers a “global health threat”, picketers are detained.
- Since the beginning of the pandemic, Russia’s transport links with many countries of the world have been seriously disrupted. With Western countries, it has not been restored to its former extent – air traffic began to gradually recover in 2021, but was completely stopped after the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
