Social network “ЯRUS”, which existed since 2019 at the expense of the head of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced the termination of its work.
As indicated in the message of the administration of the social network, the reason was the “unstable political situation”, due to which the financial support of the project was terminated. “We are looking for new investors,” the message also states.
The publication The Insider reminds that the “YARUS” project was conceived as a “patriotic analogue” of Instagram and TikTok. In 2021, Prigozhin invested 30 to 40 million rubles a month in it. Nevertheless, the social network did not become popular: it had almost no real users, and content was copied from other platforms.
Earlier, Roskomnadzor blocked several mass media belonging to Prigozhin – including the businessman’s main media resource RIA FAN. Employees of Prigozhyn companies told The Bell publication that they expect a change of ownership in the near future.
