More than a quarter of surveyed Ukrainians (26%) expect that 2024 will be more peaceful than the previous one. At the same time, 33% of respondents believe that the current year will be more turbulent, another 36% are convinced that it will not differ from 2023.

About this testify the results of the survey, in which more than 40 thousand respondents from all over the world took part. It was conducted by the Sociological group “Rating” together with the research institute Gallup International.

“Ukraine also shows more positive expectations for 2024 compared to other countries — every second hopes for a better year than the previous one,” – noted sociologists.

According to the study, 40% of people expect a better year, while 25% expect a worse year. The remaining 35% believe that 2024 will be the same as the previous one.

Most are inclined to think that 2024 will be difficult financially and economically unstable.

Sociologists also found that Western countries are “more excited.” In contrast, residents of countries such as Afghanistan and Indonesia express more optimistic predictions about peace and war in 2024.

In the course of the study, sociologists came to the conclusion that residents of European countries have the lowest belief in positive changes in 2024. In particular, residents of Austria, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina have the lowest level of optimism – less than 25% of citizens believe in a better future. And the highest among residents of Saudi Arabia.
