“I apologize”: Kharkiv taxi driver repented for his pro-Russian position and for calling Ukraine “the country of 404”

A 50-year-old taxi driver in Kharkiv caused a scandal with a female passenger who asked to turn off the Russian music in the car cabin. And during the heated discussion, the man called Ukraine “country 404” and claimed that it “does not exist as a state.”

The passenger filmed the conflict and posted it on social media.

People were outraged, and a day after the incident was publicized, a video of an apology appeared on social networks, where the taxi driver claims that he is against the war.

The man’s name is Vyacheslav, he lives in Kharkiv.

“I was playing a song by the Bi-2 group, who are foreign agents of the Russian Federation, which opposes the war. Because of this, I got angry and said words that did not reflect my real position.

I support Ukraine, I am patriotic and have a strong negative attitude towards Russia and its armed aggression. I sincerely apologize for what I said“, the man claims.

We will remind, the incident happened on July 1. A 24-year-old passenger ordered a taxi from the Bolt service, got into the car and heard that the driver was playing Russian music.

After the girl’s remarks and attempts to explain why it is not appropriate to support the aggressor state in this way, the driver declared that music should supposedly be “outside of politics” and declared that “Kharkiv is a Russian-speaking city.”
