The Ministry of Reintegration explained how to get a passport for a 14-year-old child with TOT

Children who have reached the age of 14 while living in the temporarily occupied territories (TOT) may face difficulties in obtaining the first passport of a citizen of Ukraine. The Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine explained what to do in such situations. To obtain a passport, a person of this age must apply to any territorial unit of the State Migration Service. It is necessary to provide the following documents: Birth certificate or extract from DRATS (if available). If the document is missing, the employees of the State Internal Revenue Service will check the information on their own. Passports of parents or one of them (for verification of Ukrainian citizenship). If a person does not maintain a relationship with his parents or cannot provide them due to martial law, it is sufficient to provide information on such documents. If one of the parents is a foreigner or a person without citizenship, a certificate of registration of the person as a citizen of Ukraine is submitted. But the Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that submitting copies of the above-mentioned documents is not a mandatory condition for accepting documents from the applicant for the issuance of a passport and cannot be a reason for refusing to issue a document. Issues related to the registration and restoration of passports were discussed under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk at a meeting of the Coordination Staff on ensuring the departure of Ukrainian citizens from the TOT. As of July 8, almost 500 children died during the 500 days of the Great War. At the same time, Russia deported more than 20 thousand Ukrainian children, 4.5 thousand of them had the status of orphans or were deprived of parental care. Read also: All children are ours.
