Money for watching movies: the Ministry of Internal Affairs told about a new fraudulent scheme

A new fraudulent scheme has appeared in Ukraine – people are promised money for watching movies.
This is reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A 40-year-old resident of Zhytomyr region, who sent 160,000 hryvnias to fraudsters, contacted the police.
In the Telegram channel with an audience of 15,000, she saw an ad for a part-time job. She was promised “extra profits” for watching movies and investing in them.

“From the first investment of UAH 200, the woman received a 50% profit. Later, she transferred UAH 2,000. Yes, within two days, she sent UAH 160,000.” – they say in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
However, the woman did not wait for feedback, so she turned to the law enforcement officers.
The ministry reminded that in order to protect yourself from fraudulent schemes, you must:
- assess risks before investing;
- find out whether the company has permits and licenses to provide financial services;
- if necessary, consult with official consultants in the field of financial services.
The law enforcement officers also reminded that “the audience of many thousands of online channels does not indicate the absence of fraudulent schemes.”
We will remind you that earlier the Ministry of Justice warned about fraudsters who steal passwords under the guise of “Meta employees”.
