Yevhen Rudnytskyi, a 34-year-old breeder from Dnipro, bred a new variety of violet, which he named “RUD-Dali” – in honor of the fallen poet and soldier Maksym Kryvtsov with the call sign “Dali”.

“I dedicate my new violet variety RUD-DALI to the memory of Maksym Kryvtsov. Poet, Warrior (call sign “Dali”) – Maksym Kryvtsov. One of his poems ended with the words: “And in the spring I will bloom with violets…” Eternal memory Hail to the hero. Glory to Ukraine!” – says Yevhen Rudnytsky’s post.

In a comment for “UP. Life”, he said that violet is a reflection of Maksym Kravtsov’s bright and gentle soul.

“Delicate white and blue bells with a dark eye. A compact rosette of medium green leaves with a yellow variegated crown. A miniature variety,” – he described his plant.

Evgeny has been collecting violets since 2017. He says that he loves these flowers very much. Now his collection includes 500 varieties, about 50 of which he bred himself. Its flowers are unusual – the leaves have two, and sometimes even three colors.

Who is Maksym Kryvtsov?

He is a Ukrainian poet who died on January 7, 2024 at the front of the Ukrainian-Russian war.

He participated in the Revolution of Dignity, and after Russia’s attack on Ukraine in 2014, he defended the state.

With the beginning of a full-scale invasion, the poet took up arms again to defend the Motherland.

In 2023, he published a collection of poems “Poems from the Pit”. It was recognized as one of the best books last year for the Pen Ukraine version.
