Since the first days of the war, the Coca-Cola company has been making efforts to support communities and rebuild Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army, the Coca-Cola Company, its beverage bottling partners and the Coca-Cola Foundation have allocated more than $35 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine. USA.

One of the humanitarian projects – “Holiday magic from Coca-Cola: a million bottles for the most vulnerable Ukrainians” was included in the National Register of Records of Ukraine.

History of the project

In December 2023, the Coca-Cola company began implementing the charity project “Holiday magic from Coca-Cola: a million bottles for the most vulnerable Ukrainians.”

Coca-Cola donated a million bottles of the drink to the most vulnerable communities throughout Ukraine to make the winter holidays a little more joyful.

With the help of such partner humanitarian organizations as the Ukrainian Red Cross and Caritas of Ukraine, Coca-Cola received gift sets for families in difficult life circumstances, internally displaced persons, single parents, large families, and persons with disabilities in all regions of Ukraine.

Also, with the participation of BF “M.R.I.Ya” and the Scottish organization Siobhan’s Trust, bottles of Coca-Cola were handed over to communities that are located closest to the battle line or most often suffer from enemy shelling.

About the record

The National Register of Records of Ukraine confirmed that one and a half liter bottles of Coca-Cola with a special marking on the label “Dlya tebe” produced for charity by Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine are the largest number of bottled drinks produced for charity in Ukraine.

In addition, according to the expert of the National Register of Records of Ukraine Vitaliy Zorin, this indicator is also the largest in Europe and soon it can be officially confirmed.

At first, they did not think about the record

“One and a half-liter bottles of Coca-Cola “Dlya Tebe” were donated to families who found themselves in a difficult situation in Ukraine, in particular, in front-line communities, and to those who had to leave their homes.

We wanted to bring a small part of the holiday to cheer them up and remind them that we never forget them, – commented Andrii Bublyk, director of corporate relations and sustainable development of Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine.

– During the implementation of the project, we tried to record every employee, every volunteer who took part in this action. This is reflected in the photo gallery at the factory as an example of our unity for future employees.

This number of people and bottles is really impressive. The idea to fix it as a record came later.”

The fact that the project was not done for the sake of a record is confirmed by the fact that for Ukraine’s record it would be enough to produce 100,000 exclusive bottles, that is, 10 times less.

One and a half liter bottles of Coca-Cola are not available for sale – they were produced exclusively for charitable purposes with a special marking on the label “For you”.

Charity projects are in the top among record holders

Despite the martial law, the number of national records is returning to pre-war levels. This happens thanks to numerous charity projects.

“Today, the number of applications for records has reached pre-war levels. But after the full-scale invasion, the directions of records changed. Military, volunteer and medical records came to the fore.

And this is quite logical, because charity and volunteer records help attract even more people to good deeds, they give faith that we are invincible, – explains the head of the National Register of Records of Ukraine, Lana Vetrova.

– Socially responsible business in Ukraine in this most difficult time for society supports those people who need it most, provides humanitarian aid during the war – this is exactly what Coca-Cola does – its batch of one million bottles is recognized by us as the largest batch of beverages in Ukraine, produced specially with a charitable purpose”.

Ms. Lana told us that in the spring of 2022, there were many discussions about whether charity projects should apply for record-setting at all. We came to the conclusion that it is worth it, because it demonstrates the unity of Ukrainians in helping the defenders of the homeland and promotes the influx of partners and like-minded people.

In this case, a record is not about showing off a certain achievement, but an opportunity to attract attention and unite an even greater number of people and resources for good causes.

What else is 35 million dollars spent on? from Coca-Cola?

Starting from February 24, 2022, 70,000 food kits with the most necessary basic composition of products, 5,000 bed sets with warm blankets, more than fifty powerful electric generators for educational, medical, humanitarian institutions and institutions and 45 mobile boiler rooms working on gas and diesel engines also heat cities and villages in the winter.

In addition, Coca-Cola is rebuilding a destroyed kindergarten in the village of Bohdanivtsi, Brovar district, Kyiv region.
