A family with two children was evacuated from the city of Toretsk in Donetsk region. Their house is located 300 meters from the front line.

The family did not dare to leave because of the elderly grandmothers, are reported in the Main Department of the National Police of the Donetsk region.

In a video released by the police, the mother of the children explains that one grandmother has dementia and the other has bad legs. After a few minutes of persuasion, the woman agrees to the evacuation.

The law enforcement officers took the two boys, their parents and grandmothers with limited mobility to an evacuation shelter, from where the family went to Kyiv.

Currently, 17 children remain in Toretsk. Due to the proximity to the front line, forced evacuation continues in the Toretsk community.

“Most adults are aware of the situation and have already taken their children to safe regions. However, there are families who categorically refuse to evacuate. To convince parents, Donetsk region law enforcement officers conduct preventive training“, the law enforcement officers say.

We will remind that in Kharkiv Oblast are planning introduce mandatory evacuation of another 18 villages.
