The petition on the possibility of demobilization of the military after 18 months of service has gathered 25,000 signatures, according to the website of the head of state. Now it should be considered by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. The appeal was registered by People’s Deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko from the “European Solidarity” party. “For more than a year, our soldiers have been at the front and do not understand how much longer they will have to be there, and there is an urgent need to adjust the terms. The uncertainty of the terms of service leads to the deterioration of the moral and psychological state of the soldiers,” Goncharenko emphasizes. The document also mentions a five-year deferment from conscription for those who are demobilized after completing the maximum term of military service. Goncharenko asks the president to address the Verkhovna Rada in order to speed up the consideration and adoption of the draft law.
