A Polish officer of the border station in Hrubeszów saved the life of a one-year-old child from Ukraine. The story of the rescue was told by the Polish border service. A bus passenger from Ukraine noticed that her son was not breathing and was turning red. The alarmed woman ran out with the child in her arms and informed the border guards that her baby was not breathing. The incident happened while crossing the border at the Ustylug-Zosyn checkpoint. Fortunately, Mateusz Kondrat, an officer of the Nadbuzhan Department of the Border Service, resuscitated the child in time before the ambulance arrived. While the child was being given first aid, border guards called an ambulance, and an officer with a defibrillator arrived at the scene. The border guards, who were on duty in the neighboring lanes, also rushed to help. An ambulance arrived at the scene about 15 minutes later. The child was taken to a hospital in Hrubeshiv.
