A British TikTok influencer and her mother have been sentenced to life in prison for killing two men in a car crash. Daughter Mahek and mother Ansreen Bukhari conspired a group of people to kill two 21-year-old men (Saqib Hussain and Hashim Ijazuddin). The “fatal” car chase happened after Saqib Hussain threatened to reveal his affair with 46-year-old Ansreen, The Guardian and Sky reported. The case was heard at Leicester Crown Court for three months. The court established that the mother and daughter were in a group that organized the murder of two men. A group of attackers lured victims into a Tesco car park in February last year, then chased them at speeds of up to 100mph and rammed their cars. Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin died instantly when their car crashed into a tree and burst into flames. Hussain threatened to send Ansreen’s husband her candid photos if she did not pay him back the $3.7 thousand he allegedly spent on her. On the morning of 11 February 2022, Mahek arranged to meet Hussain in a car park in Leicester, promising to hand him the money. However, the woman arrived there as part of a group of 8 people. Most of them were wearing masks and at least one was carrying a weapon. When Saqib and his close friend Hashim arrived at the parking lot, they made a quick escape but were chased by the group at high speed, leading to a fatal accident. The court was presented with an audio recording of one of the victims calling the police and saying: “They’re trying to ram us. They’re trying to ram us! They’re trying to push us off the road. Please, I’m begging you, I’m going to die.” Then there was a scream and the call was cut off by the sound of a blow. The court concluded that the men’s car was deliberately pushed off the road. Mahek, 24, and Ansreen, 46, were jailed for life Judge Timothy Spencer Casey said the fame Mahek Bukhari had achieved through her career as an influencer had made her “absolutely self-obsessed”. “TikTok and Instagram are at the heart of this. It’s the reason why you dropped out of university, Mahek. If you hadn’t, you’d be a young graduate right now with your whole life ahead of you. And now you have to sit in jail with all your best years,” said Casey. The judge also believes that Ansreen Bukhari was “spinned” by the imagined glamor of her daughter’s world, which is why she started an affair with Hussain. 24-year-old Mahek was sentenced to life imprisonment with a term of at least 31 years and 8 months. And 46-year-old Ansrin – to life imprisonment with a minimum term of imprisonment of 26 years and 9 months. Other perpetrators were also sentenced to life imprisonment.
