Actor Alexander Filippenko left Russia. His daughter Alexandra told about this on the air of the TV channel “Rain”.
Previously, the Mossovet theater, where Filippenko worked, did not renew the contract with him, and the organizers of the actor’s concerts began to refuse to provide venues. According to Aleksandra Filippenko, what happened is related to the public position of the father.
As “Dozhd” notes, in May of last year, on “Embroidery Day”, Filippenko published a photo in which he is sitting at a table in Ukrainian clothes. “Dad decided to take out his embroidery and remember the wonderful days spent in Kyiv, the Dovzhenko studio, and wrote some words of love – primarily to friends in Ukraine,” the actor’s daughter explained, adding that now her father lives in Vilnius.
Alexander Filippenko is a People’s Artist of Russia, who played more than a hundred roles in theater and cinema. He also gained fame thanks to his solo performances, during which he reads the works of Gogol, Zoshchenko, Dovlatov, Solzhenitsyn, Levitansky, and many other authors.
Filippenko repeatedly spoke critically about the power of Vladimir Putin, publicly supported the Russian opposition and spoke at rallies and dinners in support of political prisoners. In 2014, together with a number of other cultural figures, the actor expressed his disagreement with the annexation of Crimea.
- After a full-scale military invasion of the territory of Ukraine, the Russian authorities began to persecute, including, cultural figures who opposed the war. Dozens of directors, actors, musicians and artists faced the impossibility of engaging in professional activities in Russia and were forced to leave the country. Due to their anti-war stance, some of them – such as, for example, against the leader of the rock group “DDT” Yuri Shevchuk and the actor Artur Smolyaninov – administrative cases were filed to discredit the actions of the Russian army.
